Racism rule of thumb

June 11, 2016 by Dave Knadler

Look, here’s another of my African Americans.

The rule of thumb is just this: If you have to tell people you’re not racist, you are a racist. Thus, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump again confirms what even casual observers already know:

Well, I am not a racist, in fact, I am the least racist person that you’ve ever encountered.

Least racist? Always with the superlatives, this guy. I imagine New York Times reporter Marc Fisher has encountered several thousand people who’d take issue with that.

But whatever. The Monarch of Mar-a-Lago doth protest too much, methinks. He’s sounding a bit like George Wallace: ““I love black people, I love white people, I love yellow people.” If there’s one thing we knew about George Wallace, it’s that he did not love black people.

OK, that’s enough on Trump for awhile. There have to be better things to think about.
