It’s been a tough week. You can imagine my stunned disbelief to learn recently that Charlie Sheen is not, in fact, dead. The rumors were greatly exaggerated. Around here, we’re in about the third stage of of grief over it. Next thing you know, we’re going to find out that Osama bin Laden isn’t dead either. That’s America: The Internet giveth, and the Internet taketh away.
Speaking of the Internet, how about that Casey Anthony verdict? Never saw it coming, maybe because the Internet was my main source of news on everything Anthony. But what other source of news was there? Fox? HLN? If there’s a silver lining to the acquittal, it’s that Nancy Grace’s head exploded on live television. From what little I saw of Nancy as the case unfolded, she was pretty adamant that trial itself was a needless formality. A real justice system would have proceeded straight to execution. Now it’s back to full-time flogging of the Natalee Holloway case. And, around Labor Day, reviewing Casey’s book, If I Did It. Meantime, I just wish she’d do something about that hair.

The woman is a piece of work, no question.
I especially like the title you chose for this piece.
“If I Did It” – perfect O.J. reference!
